Does anyone know who may have been the publisher of this card with a view of the "Linda Valley"?

Is it from a series perhaps or maybe just a single publication?

Going back to Ross's card of Charles Street, with Grattan's in the foreground, the use of the code would suggest either Selwyn Cox or The PPC Co. who were both active in producing the Wynphotoprint etc. Series of cards, most of which bear similar codes, and incidentally used a very similar font for the titles on the front of the cards.

Any chance that the PPC Co. was an alter ego of Selwyn Cox?

Does anyone know if the logo (H D r C ??) in the stamp box belongs to the printer or the publisher (the latter is not identified on the card - see below) ??

Over the last few years I have seen a small number of real photo cards with views of Bothwell and Area, all on Empire Postcard stock (c.1910)
with the letters "E.A.W" ending a neatly printed inscription. All the cards I have seen have been of high quality indicating the the photographer
must have had some professional standard equipment and considerable experience.

Would anyone like to make a suggestion as to whom these initials may have belonged?

3 more EAW real photo cards. The only EAW I know is Burnie photographer ERNEST ALBERT WINTER. Is it possible its Winter? Did he have some connection to Bothwell? 2 of my cards are posted from Bothwell,1908 and 1912. I agree that he/she was an excellent photographer.

Thanks Mike.

Chris Long makes a brief reference to an "E.A. Wallace - Press shots of Southern Tasmania in the Weekly Courier, 1907"

When I get a chance I'll see if I can find them on the State Library site (no, I won't call them LINC !!) now that they have
digitised the pictorial sections of the Weekly Courier from that era ...... if there are other photos of Bothwekk, we may have
our man!

Can the expert tell me who is the publisher of this card? It has "Art Series Copyright" on the back at bottom left, part obscured by the message

"Art Series" = N.S.W. Bookstall

...a huge producer of Australian postcards during the "Golden Era" based in Sydney.

Does anyone know who published this card? I can't decipher the logo on the back between POST and CARD, and I can't find any reference to "E.J.H. Series".

Any assistance would be appreciated.

This postcard size photo with a view of "High Street, New Norfolk" is numbered '1142' suggests that there are
others by the same unidentified photographer/publisher.

The card has a plain back but would have been intended for use as a postcard - postcard size photographic stock
was not readily available during WWII and through to the late 1940s (when this photo was taken)

Any suggestions, images of similar cards? Please post here.

The first question here is, who was the publisher? I can't find anywhere mention of HAC, HCA or any of the combinations of H, A and C.

The second question is, why was the verandah removed from the hospital?

Does anyone know who published the card below? They don't give any clue as to who they are at all. On the front there is "Series 3519", suggesting they have published a lot of cards. It looks like their economy line, printed in monochrome on fairly poor quality card. Many it was the start of the anonymous Printed in China movement?

The book People of Port Esperance - Newspaper Reports & Photographs by Dorothy Baker (Published by the author, 2006) mentions Crump at Port Esperance thrice:

p. 60. In a photo of the Port Esperance Regatta Committee
p. 79. "Our Perambulators. This talented troupe gave an entertainment at Dover hall, proceeds £14 for Red Cross. Perfomers Messrs. Crump, Morris, McIntyre, King, Misses Jackson, Upcher, Morris".
p. 79. Later on the same page "The Perambulators": troupe contains both Captain Crump and D. Crump.

Both the 1904 and 1913 Tasmanian Post Office Directories both list "Crump and Dalgleish" as storekeeper, DOVER.

These cards printed by Osboldstone with Burnie views have "R. Pearce" printed on the view side in the LL corner.
Both cards were postally used in 1906/07.

This undivided back card "A Frozen Waterfall , The Gorge Near Queenstown" appears to have been removed from

The given photographer "Hart" may have been Charles A. Hart who was a very active member of the Northern Tasmanian Camera Club
at the time this card was produced.

In the LL corner of the image is "Brett Co" and I cannot recall seeing this name printed on a card before.

My queries

1) could this a card from a 'giveaway' sheet of postcards included with a copy of The Weekly Courier (published by "The Examiner" in Launceston)?

2) has anyone seen any other images by "Hart" on a postcard ...printed or real photo

3) who was "Brett Co"?

Could it be William P Hart 1845 to 1926, photographer, Queenstown, NEW ZEALAND?
