Dromedary year slug error

#1 Post by Geoff Dane » Fri Jun 14, 2013 11:45 am

While sorting through some stamps with Dromedary postmarks I found several (including those in the following scan) where the year was incorrect. There were no postmarks on the ONE PENNY overprints with the 1912 year slugs in the material I was looking through and this was corrected for January 1913. I have very few other examples of the Dromedary postmark and the only example of a 1912 date is from May (or perhaps its March - only the M visible) so this problem (whatever it was that saw 12 replaced by 91) arose later in the year.

This is the only copy of Dromedary I have for 1912. I think the month is July but its not very clear.
