Re: W.T.P. card(s)
This painting of Cataract Gorge was by Laura H. Davey and is one of a set of 12 by this artist depicting Northern Tasmanian scenery.
This series was first published by Osboldstone & Atkins of Melbourne and some cards also have the the logo of W.T. Pater (Melbourne-based as well)
which is illustrated in the post above. I am uncertain as to what the 'relationship' was between these two firms.

See Picture Postcards in Australia 1898 to 1920 by David Cook. Page 108 for a biography and page 182 for a check list of her Northern Tasmanian set of 12 and her set of 6 bush huts and homes series.
Re: W.T.P. card(s)
I recently found another W.T.P. card showing Hobart Waterworks.
Although the card has been used it was probably sent in an envelope as there is no evidence of postmarking or that a stamp was present at some time.
The only other information is 'Printed in Germaqny'

Re: W.T.P. card(s)
Laura is my great aunt about 4 times removed. We have a few wonderful paintings of hers, 2 in particular painted in the Victorian goldfields in the 1850's. I have compared the signature on the top postcard with our paintings and can confirm this postcard is her work. We would love to see more of her work so if you are able to direct me to a link that shows these in full I would be grateful. We are also trying to locate 12 of her paintings loaned to an art gallery in St Kilda Victoria that have been missing for many years. If you have any ideas we would love to hear them. Theresa
