Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY & LATE DATES, etc. HERE
Rosebery Type 6a New late date of 9 August 1989. Previously stated as 29 April 1988.
I have also added illustrations of 19Jul88 and 14Fe89 in order to establish the provenance of this very late new date.-

Always nice to extend the date range by more than a few days. Good stuff.

PELVERATA · DEC 2 1915 · TASMANIA - a new 'early date'
Interesting to note that even if a second digit is missing from beside the '2', there's no way that the
datestamp could have been ordered on December 28th as previously recorded.

Previous ED is 5 Jan 1993. Present example is 17 Sep 1992.
I am certain this is Type R6 (ii), (iii) as it has the very short bar between TAS and the Postcode

Pretty sure you will find the code letter has not impressed in this exampleMaxH wrote:GLENORCHY 5-P 19 JE 87 ?? Type 8T
Hardinge lists several 8aT varieties, but the present example seems to be unlisted.
There is No 8T in the listing or the latest update.
Is this a true item or has the index code not come through in the postmarking process?

Mole Creek 7(m)
I am not sure that this item qualifies as a late date, but Hardinge states that "Sometime in 1996
or early 1997 this CDS was changed to large dateline." This shows that on 21 (or ? 24) November 1997 the
7(m) with large 9 in the year was still in use.

Thanks for that one. Nice item. That info comes second hand so it will be interesting to look at later strikes

Glenorchy R6
I am not sure whether this is an early date. This R6 datestamp is dated 17 September 1992.
This would make it a R6 (i) however Hardinge describes this postmark as being 30mm diameter.
This one measures 38mm which suggests R6 (ii) & (III) with a very small dash. However this postmark is listed as first use 5 Jan 1993.
Any ideas?

PAWLEENA · -1MY26 · TAS ..... new earliest date seen
Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY & LATE DATES, etc. HERE
Mole Creek Type 7.
Hardinge cites the late date of 11 Dec 1989. This example is certainly not the 7(m) variety which was in use 1995.
Present example is nearly 11 years later than cited. Any comments

Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY & LATE DATES, etc. HERE
Hi Max,
this variation of the Type 7 is mentioned in John's remarks column
I think that the reason that this Type 7(L) datestamp isn't listed is because the change occurred outside of the period
that John covers ...i.e. to 1995
