Thanks to a kind donation from Tony Orchard and also to a TPS member who had these documents scanned to PDF at his own expense, the TPS now provides on-line access to a number of Tasmanian Postal Guides and a few related documents.
8 Tasmanian Postal Guides from 1894 to 1901 are now available free of charge as PDFs on the TPS website here http://www.tps.org.au/tasmanian-archives
The Tasmanian Postal Guides include contemporary details of Postal and Stamp Duty Acts, postal rates, new routes, Post Office openings and closings for the year, Money Order and Telegraph services, related services and more.
We hope to add more Guides as well as some earlier documents containing guides to Postal services, rates and so on at a later date.
