Several photos by G.Iona were included in the Mt Lyell Tourist Association series of West Coast views published c.1920.
Here are a couple of real photo cards by G. Iona, also with West Coast views (click on the image once to view both cards)

and also partial impressions of a THE IONA STUDIO handstamp on the reverse.

A few questions....
1) can anyone add some more real photo cards by Iona to this topic?
2) has anyone a better impression of THE IONA STUDIO handstamp?
3) can anyone supply some biographical information about Iona?
4) does anyone know which waterfall is pictured above; also the name of the small streamer (presumably on the Gordon River or Maquarie Harbour bay?

Re: REAL PHOTO CARDS by THE IONA STUDIO
Three printed cards (G Iona photo) from the Mount Lyell Tourist Association's Series. Printed by John Vail, Government Printer. (A Semi Official series) There are other Iona cards in this series.
Other card is a real photo card with scenes from around Queenstown. Iona photo bottom right corner.
I think the waterfall is the Princess Falls near Queenstown
Same view as Ross's real photo card.

Re: REAL PHOTO CARDS by THE IONA STUDIO
Here is a card in the Mt Lyell Tourist Association Series that has not been listed so far.
The back records" The tall trees are myrtle. The girls are from Queenstown. The spot is near the King River, at Harris's Reward Mine"
Can anyone suggest a more specific location of the mine and has this card been seen before?
Pete

Re: REAL PHOTO CARDS by THE IONA STUDIO
Peter, the answer to your questions.
1. Yes the card is known. It is listed in my booklet " The semi official postcards of Tasmanian 1908 - 1969." I forgot to scan that card when I posted the others from the same set.
2. The Harris's Reward Mine was a small show gold mine / prospect. A pack track led from Lynchford (near Queenstown) to the mine. The track crossed the King River to the south side of the river, over an old bridge which has long gone to the mine.
Hope this helps you.
