T8c in oval (rubber-faced handstamp) - 11/7/66

8c was double the standard letter rate between 14/2/66 and 30/9/67.
The image above is from a small commercial cover mailed without franking.

OVER ONE OZ. T 6c MTT (rubber-faced handstamp) - 28/3/67

The "second step" letter rate was 7c between 14/2/66 and 30/9/67. This handstamp
would have been used for mail with only standard letter rate franking affixed.

Can someone refresh my memory as to what the letters MTT stood for?

Refer to The Courier No 7, April 1988. In an article by Colin Jones it was suggested that the letters M.T.T. stood for Mail Transport Tasmania

HANDSTAMP FOR USE ON GREETINGS CARDS WITH MORE THAN FIVE WORDS.


This is a per favour strike which I found amongst correspondence included with an accumulation I purchased some time ago.
The letter accompanying it was dated 20 February 1975. Has it been seen used on mail?

This may have been applied at the GPO but it's more likely to have been used at the MEB Hobart.
