Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
A 4d Courier forgery is posted on eBay by a UK seller (eBay item 125986891350). The forgery is the creation of Placido Ramon de Torres, a prolific 19th century/early 20th century forger.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
It appears that we have another eBay seller id for which we need to be wary. The seller is "mightystamps000" with a location of NSW, Australia. The seller has listed another 1d Courier creation of the NSW forger.

More evidence that everyone needs to be careful buying anything from "mightystamps000" of NSW, Australia. The eBay seller has now posted another creation of the NSW forger--this time the 4d Courier forgery.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
eBay seller "Iohel-0" of SA, Australia is back selling another creation of the NSW forger--this time another 4d Courier forgery. The BN60 cancel is also forged.
Also on eBay is a 1 shilling Chalon forgery from the UK (item# 134670404381). The item lacks detail and is not engraved. The circular cancel with lines is also forged.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Another forgery of the one shilling Chalon is on eBay from seller "Iohel-0" of SA, Australia. This seller is or is associated with the NSW forger. The creation is being offered as an unwatermarked proof but lacks design details and does not appear to be engraved. Another example of this creation is shown in the post on this bulletin board dated 20 June 2023. That creation was posted by eBay seller "maximus321-6" of QLD, Australia who also is or is associated with the NSW forger. Iohel-0 has also posted on eBay a number of other Chalon items for sale, and while they appear genuine, a number of them appear to have been cleaned of fiscal cancels. Therefore, be careful buying anything from these sellers.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Two new (or relatively new) eBay seller ids for which we need be wary! Both sellers have just posted forgeries from the NSW forger. The first is the typical 1d Courier creation listed by "stampswunder" of NSW, Australia. The second is the typical 4d Courier creation listed by "pgstamps" of QLD, Australia. The 4d Courier is the exact same forgery that was listed by "maximus321-6" of QLD, Australia earlier this month. See TPS BB post of 13 Aug 2023.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Three new forgeries are listed on eBay, and all are creations of the NSW forger. The first two forgeries are listed by "stampswunder" of NSW, Australia. They are a SPECIMEN forgery on a 1d Sideface and a 2d Chalon forgery. The third item is another 1d Courier forgery and is listed by "Iohel-0" of SA, Australia.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
A forgery of an oval TASMANIA obliterator was listed on eBay recently. Genuine oval TASMANIA obliterators were used as part of duplex cancels. I sent an email to the seller who had listed the item as postally used to explain that the item had actually been fiscally used with the forged cancel being added in an attempt to hide the pen markings (which can still be seen in places under the cancel). The seller cancelled the eBay listing and intends to return the item to the individual they bought it from. This means the item may come back on the market at some point.
I have seen several types of forgeries of an oval TASMANIA obliterator, but this item is different from those and represents another type of forgery.

Another 1d Courier forgery has been listed on eBay, and this time actually described as a forgery. The cancel is also forged. The seller is "steno1950" from Napoli, Italy. (I cropped the eBay image to delete portions of the paper piece.)

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
More forgeries on eBay. The first forgery is of the 1d Chalon by the prolific forgery seller "stampswunder" of NSW, Australia. The forgery appears to be produced by the same method as the 2d Chalon forgery shown in the 5 September 2023 post. The second forgery is of the 4d Courier being sold by "marcomarkymark" of the Netherlands. The third forgery is a Hobart duplex cancel on a 2/6 postal fiscal being sold by "one-stop-stamp-shop" of Sydney, NSW, Australia. The cancel's lettering is poorly shaped, and it has a code Z-Z which does not exist (to the best of my knowledge).

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Looks like we have another eBay seller that we need to worry about and scrutinize. The seller id is "niftystamps111" with a location of NSW, Australia. The item is a Specimen forgery on a 1/2d electrotype pictorial. This exact same item was offered on eBay several times by "stampswunder" of NSW, Australia--a known seller id of the forger or an associate. See TPS post of 15 September 2023.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Five more forgeries on eBay from two different sellers. The first is another 4d Courier forgery from the new seller "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. The next four are forgeries from another new seller with the id "sunstamps-24" of QLD, Australia. All five of the forgeries are the work of the NSW forger.

Another forgery on eBay from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. This 4d forgery is another creation of the NSW forger. I now believe there is sufficient evidence to recommend that all collectors should be careful buying anything from this seller.
