Is this Hobart Type 2(i) common in blue? I've never seen one before.

Hardinge records it as blue in 1914 as you might be aware? A number of different datestamps were struck in blue or violet ink around this time but I don’t believe there was any particular significance in the ink colour . Others may know more.
Just a guess but we also see problems with supplies of ink for printing stamps during the First World War, for instance the KGV Heads. Supplies of ink for ink pads may have been affected by the war as well.

Thank you. I've been finding a lot of blue cancels lately and not just from Tasmania.
