Other Information[edit]

Named changed to Needles in January 1895 but this name change was not reflected in the postmark until the Type 5 was issued in 1940.

1 January 1895 - The post office at the Needles is removed to the railway station, and Mrs L Lay appointed postmistress thereat, vice Wm. Cunningham. Note that the gazette notice still included THE before Needles!
