Opened in 1868 as Penguin Creek and datestamps carried that name until 1900.

BN123 was initially used at Sulphur Creek from 1-Jan-1867 before being transferred to Penguin Creek (just 5 km east) when that post office opened on 1-Jun-1868

Type 1 Penguin Creek
The Type 1 postmark used from 1886 read Penguin Creek. This postmark was altered in 1900 with CREEK being removed to leave a lopsided postmark which was not replaced until 1910.
